Big Hill Historic Gullah Neighborhood

Big Hill, one of the smaller historic Gullah neighborhoods in terms of population, encompasses areas along Dillion Road.

• Big Hill was a community of farmers best known for producing watermelon, sugar cane, sweet potatoes, beans and other crops in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
• Big Hill farmers shipped produce to Savannah to be sold at the market.
