Tropical Storm Imelda Final Update

September 29, 2025 at 3:45 pm

Tropical Storm Imelda will not make landfall on the Southeast coast. Heavy rain, strong winds, high surf, rip currents, and isolated coastal flooding may still occur during the next couple of days. Please remain prepared for adverse weather conditions.

Normal operations and business hours are in place for the coming week.

Beach renourishment remains paused at Pine Island given current ocean conditions and for the construction crew's safety.

Tracking this storm served as good reminders to:

  • Tell us if you see something that you think needs the Town's attention. Please report it through the MyHHI app, https://hiltonheadislandsc.gov/myhhi/, available for free download in the Apple and Google Play stores. You have the option to upload a photo with each non-emergency service request that is routed to Town staff, who will help answer questions and provide solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on the weather forecast through official sources, such as the  National Weather Service - Charleston (NWS CHS), and local news media channels.
  • Review your plan. Resources for storm preparedness and planning are available through the Town's Hurricane Center and Emergency Preparedness Guides.

On behalf of Mayor Alan Perry, Town Council and our Town emergency management team, thank you for your attention and please stay safe.
