Per Act 176, passed by the SC Legislature, every owner must obtain an annual Town of Hilton Head Business License.
Short-Term Rental Business License
You will be required to collect a total of 11 percent in Accommodation Taxes from your guests. Eight percent of the tax goes to the state of SC and three percent of the tax comes directly to the Town of Hilton Head Island.
Determine if you need to submit the tax:
You will receive your short-term rental permit registration letter by mail from the Town of Hilton Head Island/ LodgeRev.
If you have not received your account number and activation code please contact us at 843-341-4740 or STRPlan@hiltonheadislandsc.gov.
