Beach Renourishment Phases 1 & 2 Project Update 20

Construction activities at Port Royal and Singleton Beach areas

This Week’s Progress (December 13-19)

Marinex Construction has finished installing pipes to the Bay Point Shoals Borrow Area, which is the sand source for phase two of beach renourishment in the central part of the island. They also started pumping sand onto the beach in the Singleton Beach area.

Cape Romain Contractors are working on the breakwater structures at Pine Island Beach. This project will take several months to finish.

Looking Ahead (December 20-29)

Marinex Construction will stop work from December 21 to 28 so crew members can spend the holidays with their families. Work is expected to resume on December 29, 2025 if the weather permits.

Cape Romain Contractors will also take a break from work on the breakwater structures at Pine Island Beach during these times:

Pine Island Beach remains closed during this phase.

Early January 2026

The beach tilling at Fish Haul and the Heel will commence in early January. Once the tilling is complete the side walk will be repaired at Fish Haul.  Once that is done the project at these portions of the beach will be complete.
