Beach Renourishment Phase 1 Project Update 17

Construction activities at Pine Island, Port Royal and Islanders' Beach Park

This Week’s Progress (Nov. 22-28)

Marinex Construction continued placing sand onto the beach along Port Royal Sound, nearing completion of work in the area known as the heel of Hilton Head Island.

Cape Romain Contractors worked on the breakwater structures at Pine Island Beach, a project that will take several months to complete.

Looking Ahead (Nov. 29-Dec.5)

Marinex Construction will continue pumping sand onto the beach along the Port Royal Sound.

Cape Romain Contractors will continue working on the breakwater structures at Pine Island Beach. Pine Island Beach remains closed during this phase.

Please be mindful of the following:

• Portions of Islanders' Beach Park is closed to vehicular traffic and parking from now through the duration of the beach renourishment project. Please observe and follow all posted signs during the work period.
   
• Only those residents whose vehicles are registered with a Town-issued beach parking permit are authorized to park in the remaining available, non-metered spaces.
   
• Alternative nearby beach access and parking is available at Folly Field and Driessen Beach Parks, and the Burkes Beach Road access.
