This Week’s Progress (Oct. 25-31)
Marinex Construction demobilized equipment (trucks, bulldozers, and pipelines) from Pine Island to Islanders Beach Park, allowing crews to prepare for the next leg of Phase 1 beach renourishment work - specifically, the Port Royal Sound shoreline, also known as the heel.
Cape Romain Contractors began preparing the second phase of work at Pine Island – the installation of breakwater structures. This will take several months to complete. The Pine Island beach will remain closed during this segment of work. Looking Ahead (Nov. 1-7)
