Beach Renourishment Project Update 2 – Fish Haul Beach Park

Our beach renourishment project is underway with mobilization at Fish Haul Beach. Here’s an update on this week’s Phase 1 activities and what you can expect next week.

This Week’s Completed Activities

• Marinex Construction continued to mobilize equipment at Fish Haul Beach in preparation for the upcoming renourishment work. This process involves transporting and placing pipes, bulldozers and other machinery on the beach.

• The crew also moved a dredge and barges into the Port Royal Sound area off Daws Island, which is 7.7 miles north of Hilton Head Island.

Next Week’s Planned Activities

• Equipment Staging will continue at Fish Haul Beach Park and offshore through Sept. 1.

• The beach will remain open to the public until the actual sand placement starts in early September.
