Town hosting workshops for 2026 Accommodations Tax Grant applicants

The Town of Hilton Head Island will host two mandatory training workshops for organizations interested in applying for 2026 Accommodations Tax (A-Tax) grants. Both sessions will take place in Town Council Chambers at Town Hall, 1 Town Center Court, on the following dates:

• Wednesday, July 30, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
• Thursday, July 31, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

All new and returning applicants must attend the mandatory workshops. Each session will cover:

• How to complete the application
• Overview of the applicant evaluation process
• Reimbursement procedures and requirements

Applicants planning to attend the workshops must RSVP by emailing MicheleB@hiltonheadislandsc.gov with the following information:

• Name of attendee
• Organization name
• Contact information
• Preferred workshop date

Attendees will be required to sign in at the workshop. Also, a quorum of the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee may result if four or more committee members attend the workshops.

About the Accommodations Tax

Under South Carolina law, a 2% Accommodations Tax is levied on all temporary lodging rentals—including hotels, motels, inns, and vacation properties. The revenue supports tourism promotion and tourism-related projects throughout municipalities and counties across the state.

Application Information

• The application for the Town of Hilton Head Island will be available beginning 8 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at hiltonheadislandsc.gov.
• The deadline to apply is 4 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2025. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted or reviewed.
