In honor of the Juneteenth holiday, the Town of Hilton Head Island administrative offices will close on Thursday, June 19 and reopen for regular business hours (8 am - 4:30 pm) on Friday, June 20, 2025. Town emergency services will remain available during the holiday.
About Juneteenth Juneteenth, short for June 19, is a federal holiday commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Also recognized as Juneteenth National Independence Day, it was established as a federal holiday in June 2021. The Hilton Head Island Town Council formally adopted the holiday for observance on June 7, 2022.
