Folly Field Beach Park receives a new boardwalk and improved facilities

A project aimed at enhancing the amenities at Folly Field Beach Park has been successfully completed ahead of schedule. The public can now return to visiting the beach park, located off Folly Field Road at 55 Starfish Drive.

The new boardwalk, which stretches from the parking area and winds to the beach, has been entirely replaced with premium IPE decking and marine-grade lumber. This marks the first update of this boardwalk since it was originally constructed in 1991. The beach park also received new landscaping, shower towers, restroom enhancements, benches, and drainage improvements.

"This project breathes new life into Folly Field Beach Park. Beachgoers now have a better pathway to get to and from the beach. The improved facilities allow them to spend more time enjoying the water and basking on our beautiful beaches," said Mayor Alan Perry.

"We are immensely proud of this project. It provides a much-needed upgrade for the thousands of people who visit this beach annually," said Mike DeMaria, the Beach Operations Manager who oversaw the project.
