Woodhaven Drive Pathway Construction to Start the Week of August 14

Beginning the week of August 14, the Town of Hilton Head Island will start constructing a new pathway segment on Woodhaven Drive.

Extending the pathway is a top priority within the Town’s Capital Improvement Program to enhance user accessibility and safety on Town pathways. Upon completion, the new segment will begin at the Woodhaven Drive and Cordillo Parkway intersection and continue for a quarter mile to the end of Woodhaven Drive.

The work is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete and involves:

• Demolishing a damaged, existing three-foot-wide pathway.
• Grading and drainage improvements.
• Constructing a new 10-foot-wide asphalt pathway.

Traffic control measures will be in place throughout the project. Bicycle and pedestrian traffic in the vicinity of Cordillo Parkway and Woodhaven Drive will be rerouted to Nassau Street and Deallyon Avenue while work is underway. Pathway users are encouraged to exercise caution while navigating in the vicinity.
