Land Survey Work for Future Drainage Projects Starts Week of February 27

February 24, 2023

Beginning the week of February 27, the Town of Hilton Head Island will start surveying land along Old Wild Horse Road, Mustang Lane, and Bronco Crossing in preparation for future drainage improvement work.

McKim and Creed, a contractor for the Town, will perform the survey, which includes data collection for property corners, utility locations, topography, trees, pavement, and other pertinent land features. Utility owners will mark or flag utilities before the survey work. Surveyors will flag all trees over six inches in diameter with tape as they collect information for the survey. They will remove the tape when the surveying is complete. No trees will be cut down in the process. Surveyors expect to complete the work in mid-March. The survey will be used to plan and design future projects to improve drainage along Old Wild Horse Road.
