Hilton Head Island Town Council Agrees to Purchase 12.019 Acres on Jonesville Road

Hilton Head Island Town Council voted unanimously to enter into a contract to purchase property located on Jonesville Road following executive session discussion on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The property includes three parcels located at 200, 224, and 234 Jonesville Road and will cost $7.6 million.

The parcels are situated between The Paddocks and Graham Lane and comprise a total of 12.019 acres. Preliminary designs to develop this property as Tidelands Phase 1 and Tidelands Phase 2 have been received by the Town. The proposed developments would have added 88 - 93 single family units to the Jonesville Road area.

"This Council is committed to managing growth. When we learned of the opportunity to purchase this property, we took decisive action to remove it from the threat of immediate development," said Mayor Alan Perry. "Future plans for how we will use this property have not been discussed yet. We will evaluate that as part of the Jonesville District Plan work slated for later this year."
