Town Offices Closed Monday, January 16, in Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Town of Hilton Head Island administrative offices will be closed Monday, January 16. Offices reopen at 8 am Tuesday, January 17.

Town emergency services and the Hilton Head Island Airport will remain available and operational during the holiday. Also, the Beaufort County Convenience Center, located at 26 Summit Road on Hilton Head Island, will be closed on Monday and will resume its normal operating schedule at 7:30 am on Tuesday, January 17.

In celebration of King’s legacy, we encourage everyone to participate in events planned by the Hilton Head MLK Committee for Justice:

• Saturday, January 14
  9 am - 12 pm - Service Project: Cleanup of Historic Gullah Cemeteries
  The event will be preceded at 8 am with a drive-thru breakfast at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3001 Meeting St. Cemetery cleanups will take place at Spanish Wells Cemetery, 30 Oak Marsh Drive, and Amelia Cemetery, 95 Squire Pope Road. Volunteers should bring gloves, leaf rakes, tree pruners, loppers, brooms, and other equipment to help with the projects.
