Beginning Saturday, May 7, contractors for the Town of Hilton Head Island will perform additional site maintenance work at the Town's North Pointe Tract, the future site of its public-private housing partnership initiative.
Work on the 13-acre tract along William Hilton Parkway, between Gumtree and Wild Horse roads, involvesremoving minor vegetation to provide access to the existing drainage system on North Pointe Circle. After access is created, the drainage system will be cleaned and video inspected, and roads will be swept. Work is expected to be completed within a month.
Cleaning and inspection of the drainage system represents phase II of site maintenance work on the property. During phase I, which was completed last month, contractors surveyed the tract and removed overgrown, invasive vegetation, trash debris, and dead trees.
This site maintenance work project is the direct result of a Town Council initiative to seek a public-private partnership to identify and advance Town-owned parcels for workforce housing opportunities.
