Penn Center’s Land Preservation Assistance Program Offers Aid to Beaufort County Property Owners

Beaufort County property owners in jeopardy of losing their land due to delinquent property taxes may get help through Penn Center’s Land Preservation Assistance Program.

As funding is available, assistance will be provided to property owners whose property was auctioned in 2020, Penn Center officials recently announced. The Land Preservation Assistance Program features a cost sharing opportunity for property owners to pay a portion of their delinquent taxes. The program will assist with the balance.

Applications can be obtained from Penn Center’s website at penncenter.com. Property owners should complete and submit the application prior to the deadline of March 1, 2021. Applications should be returned to info@penncenter.com or P.O. Box 126, St. Helena Island, South Carolina, 29920.
