Holiday light show may affect local Hilton Head Island traffic this weekend

The Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park will present its "Holiday Night & Lights" drive-through light show at 229 Beach City Road on Hilton Head Island from 6 pm to 8 pm on Saturday, December 4; Sunday, December 5; and Monday, December 6.

With this event, there may be some traffic delays along Beach City and Dillion roads. The public is advised to plan accordingly. If you plan to attend the drive-through light show, please use Beach City Road. This should ease local and through traffic on Dillon Road. If you have evening airline flights out of the Hilton Head Island airport on Beach City Road, please consider arriving earlier than normal.

For the safety of the public, Beaufort County Sheriff's Office deputies will be assisting with the flow of traffic at the intersection of Beach City and Dillon roads, as well as at the entrance to the park.
