In her line of work, her typical day includes working with senior leadership to implement strategies that improve employee engagement, retention, facilitate recruitment efforts, and more.

Whitaker oversees leading initiatives to improve the landscape and grounds at our parks and public spaces. Enhancing overall aesthetics from the quality of maintenance to maintaining our forests and natural habitats around the island to promote welcoming outdoor spaces and showcase the Island's natural beauty.

As the Fire Chief, his role includes executing great leadership and strategic direction through planning, coordination, and evaluation of all operations, and activities of the Town's Fire Rescue department and more.

Her role includes implementing the Gullah Geechee Cultural Preservation Project report. This includes 36 recommendations that the community has put forth and provides direction for her team before improvement endeavors begin.

Ben plays a key role in a number of different projects including serving as a project executive for the Town's first public-private partnership and also working to develop a best-in-class workforce housing neighborhood on Hilton Head Island.
