Community Connections

Planning for Our Future

This is an important moment for our Island. We are experiencing new pressures and anticipating fast-moving changes over the next decade. We are focused on Hilton Head Island's preferred future.

The Town is currently undertaking four major planning initiatives and we need the community's input. In order to coordinate community engagement among these initiatives, we have created a unified community engagement approach identified as Community Connections. The Town will use this coordinated approach to engagement for these four initiatives and future projects.

The four initiatives include Land Management Ordinance changes, corridor improvements, district planning and resilience planning.

A robust and coordinated engagement process for these initiatives will include citizens, Town Officials, and community leaders working together, offering their input and building on recent, relevant projects. This will serve as foundation for how we move forward.

The project links below will offer you more information about each initiative, as well as connect you to active surveys and the latest dates and times for Town public meetings on each initative.
