The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a federal grant program administered by the U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). It provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties based on population data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Town of Hilton Head Island became a CDBG entitlement community in 2015.
Notice of Public Meeting and 30-Day Public Comment Period
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Hilton Head Island has prepared a draft of its 2025 -2029 Consolidated Plan and 2025 Action Plan required by HUD to receive CDBG Entitlement Program funding. A public meeting to obtain input on both of these plans will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 6 pm at Town of Hilton Head Town Hall, 1 Town Center Ct., Hilton Head Island, SC.
Both plans will be available for review and comment for 30 days beginning Tuesday, June 10, 2025 through Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Copies will be available for review at the public meeting and Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, at the Town of Hilton Head Island Town Hall, or may be accessed via the Town of Hilton Head Island website at https://hiltonheadislandsc.gov. Written comments on the plan are encouraged and may be submitted by mail to Michele Bunce, Senior Grants Administrator, Town of Hilton Head Island Finance Department, 1 Town Center Court, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928 or email to MicheleB@hiltonheadislandsc.gov.
The public meeting and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the Town of Hilton Head Island's Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the HUD CDBG Program. This plan provides for citizen participation in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects involving CDBG funds. The Citizen Participation Plan is available for review on the Town's website and at Hilton Head Island Town Hall on the dates and times listed above.
Draft 2025 - 2029 CDBG Consolidated Plan
