The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a federal grant program administered by the U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). It provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties based on population data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Town of Hilton Head Island became a CDBG entitlement community in 2015.
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Hilton Head Island prepared a draft of its 2024 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assess progress in carrying out its one-year action plan for the HUD funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program. The 2024 CAPER will be available for review and comment for 15 days beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
A public meeting to obtain comments on the 2024 CAPER will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 5 pm at the Hilton Head Island Town Hall, Benjamin M. Racusin Council Chambers, 1 Town Center Court, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Copies of the draft CAPER will be available for review at the meeting and Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm at the Town of Hilton Head Island Town Hall or may be accessed via the Town of Hilton Head Island website at: https://hiltonheadislandsc.gov beginning at 8 am, Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Written comments on the 2024 CAPER are encouraged. They may be submitted via email to MicheleB@hiltonheadislandsc.gov or by mail to Michele Bunce, Senior Grants Administrator, Town of Hilton Head Island Finance Department, 1 Town Center Court, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. Comments will be accepted until Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
