Parks + Recreation Master Plan
Chaplin Community Park
Area: 67 acres
Chaplin Community Park is one of the Island's largest and most diverse parks. It provides a lot of active and passive recreation opportunities for residents and visitors to the Island.
The Town purchased land for the park in 1995 and it opened in 2001. Today, many of these features are getting old and there are a lot of new ideas for how the open space in the park can be used for other things.
This park is located in the Chaplin Historic Neighborhood on the Island, connects to the Burkes Beach parking and access, and is next to many acres of wetlands.
