Shelter Cove Pathway and Parking Improvements Under Construction

Improvements are underway for the Shelter Cove Connectivity project.

This project, which is part of the Town of Hilton Head Island’s Capital Improvement Program, will enhance existing park areas and expand the parking and pathway connectivity between Shelter Cove Community Park, the Veterans Memorial and William Hilton Parkway. Improvements will include a new parking lot with 53 pervious spaces and pathway enhancements including a boardwalk and elevated marsh-front timber bridge. Public art, lighting, landscaping and signage will be added throughout the project area.

Construction work for the project has begun. Please avoid the pathways in the area by the Veterans Memorial during construction and use pathways and sidewalks along Shelter Cove Lane. Orange fencing has been installed to identify restricted areas.
