More than 260 Hilton Head Island students will be honored for their community service at the Hilton Head Island Mayor’s Youth Volunteer Service Award Ceremony on Monday, May 20, at 5 p.m. at Hilton Head Island Beach & Tennis Resort, 40 Folly Field Road.

Hilton Head Island Mayor Pro-Tem Bill Harkins will present awards to 268 middle school and high school students for completing at least 50 hours of community service in a calendar year. Additionally, 79 of the 268 students will receive the Mayor’s Call to Service Award for completing more than 150 hours of community service.

The award ceremony is held annually as a way thank and honor these students who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service and who have given their valuable time and effort into making a difference in our community.
