Area residents are invited to a Stoney Community meeting to learn about the proposed U.S. 278 Corridor Improvement Project, which is the subject of a Transportation Sales Tax Referendum  that will be on the local ballot in November.

The meeting will take place 6 p.m., Friday, September 21, at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 382 Squire Pope Road. At the meeting, town officials will brief residents on the National Environmental Policy Act process that must occur before any improvements happen. They will also seek feedback from residents and discuss other ways they can share concerns or get answers to their questions about the proposed project.

The proposed project includes improvements on U.S. 278 between Moss Creek Drive and Squire Pope Road. A portion of U.S. 278 stretches through the Stoney community on Hilton Head Island. For more information about the project, visit beaufortpenny.com.
