As a result of weather related delays encountered since September 9, including the passage of Tropical Storm Julia and unexpected mechanical repairs and the planned relocation of the dredge within the approved Barrett Shoals borrow site, the Town has revised the schedule for the completion of the remaining segments of the Beach Renourishment Project. Work on the southern half of the central oceanfront beach will continue to advance northward before stopping adjacent to southern Palmetto Dunes. The active work site is currently located near Robin Street in North Forest Beach. This section is now expected to be complete by mid-October. Work on the northern half of the central oceanfront beach, from southern Palmetto Dunes to Singleton Beach is now expected to take place from mid-October to mid-November. Work here will commence at Singleton Beach and advance southward to the tie in. Please see the attached timeline map.
