Structure Fire at 10 Dune House Lane in Palmetto Dunes

On January 21, 2020 Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at 10 Dune House Lane in Palmetto Dunes. The first engine arrived at 1:15 am. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire on one side of the multi-family residential units. All occupants evacuated from the units before Fire Rescue arrived on scene. The building contained 4 residential living units.

4 engine companies, 3 medic units, the truck company, Battalion Chief and various officers responded to the fire.

The fire was reported under control at 3:33 am and all units were cleared from the scene by 10:30 a.m. There was fire damage to the entire roof structure of the building and the two second floor units. The two downstairs units experienced smoke and water damage throughout.

The fire was accidental in nature. Fire Rescue personnel will be meeting with insurance company investigators at the scene this week to continue the investigation.
