Planning, Development & Building ConstructionPre-Application Process

The purpose of the Pre-Application Meeting is to provide the applicant with comments, suggestions and/or concerns from those Town departments that will ultimately be reviewing the potential development proposal in its final design. Both the Town and the applicant should benefit from participation in this strictly voluntary and no fee process.

Town staff representing Development Review and Zoning, Natural Resources, Engineering, Inspections/Building Codes, and the Fire Department attend the meetings. They will also conduct a technical review; the results will be submitted to you at the meeting. The meeting is open to the public and representatives for the utility companies and outside agencies are also invited to attend. You are encouraged to invite as many people from your project team as you feel necessary, owners, developers, land planners, architects, contractors, etc. may find it productive to come to the meeting.

A project manager will be assigned at this stage who will be the point of contact for all subsequent applications and permits and to assist in navigating through the entire permitting process.
