The Town of Hilton Head Island and the Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce National Bike To Work (or Play) Day on Friday, May 20th. This national event is promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, the organization which recently recognized the Town of Hilton Head Island as a silver level Bicycle Friendly Community.
Bicycling to work (or play) has many benefits such as increasing your activity level, improving air quality, reducing motorized vehicle impacts, and saving money.
To promote resident and visitor participation in National Bike to Work (or Play) Day on Friday, May 20th there will be four temporary energizer stations along the Town's pathway network. Refreshments will be available at these stations provided by three local bicycle shops, The Bike Doctor, Go Tri Sports and Roadfish will set up energizing stations near their shops along the Town's pathway network between 7am and 10am.
Employees of the Town and the Chamber of Commerce will be pedaling to work on Friday, May 20th and encourage you, your co-workers, friends, family and visitors to pedal too. It's a fun and healthy way to spend your day.
