Debris Management Sites:
Debris Management sites located at Honey Horn and the Chaplin Park Soccer Fields remain closed to the public for the duration of the debris collection operations for safety purposes. These sites are not for the general public or private contractors use. Residents may continue to use debris drop-off sites located at Coligny, Leg O Mutton Road and the Old Gullah Flea Market site. Follow signs to these locations.
Public Town, County and State Road Right-of-Way Collections:
Residents are encouraged to continue to stage residential disaster debris (landscaping debris, construction debris and white goods [household appliances]) to the public Town, County and State Road Right-of-Ways. The Town's contractor has been and will continue to collect disaster debris from Public Right-of-Ways. This process will continue for the foreseeable future and advanced public notice will be given before any final collections are made. Please remember to separate landscape, construction and white good debris into separate piles and do not use garbage bags.
Town Pathways and Parks:
The Town's contractor is clearing several unopened town parks and removing hazardous trees. The parks will be re-opened when deemed safe. We ask for your cooperation and to obey the signs at park entrances. This is for your own safety.
Sections of town pathways have not been cleared of debris yet and may not be safe for public use. The Town is inspecting pathways and its contractor is clearing them on a priority basis. If a pathway appears to have debris on it, please refrain from using it until it is cleared.
To view a listing of the residential disaster debris drop-off sites, a listing of Public Town, County and State Roads and updates as to Town Parks re-opening, please go to the Town of Hilton Head Island’s website at www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov.
