Hurricane Hermine - Vegetative Storm Debris

Release Date: September 6, 2016

Contact Information:
Jennifer Lyle email icon , Assistant Town Engineer, 843-341-4779

Due to the limited impacts of Hurricane Hermine, the Town of Hilton Head Island will not be conducting island-wide debris removal operations. Property owners remain responsible to properly address vegetative debris on their property and are reminded that vegetative debris is accepted at the County Convenience Center* or an authorized landfill. If taking the debris to the Convenience Center, please abide by their requirements and cut/grind/reduce the volume of material as best you can. If you wish to apply for an outdoor burning permit, please consult the Town burn registration line and web site at 843-682-5125, www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov/departments/fire/burncalendar.cfm. Additional burning dates of September 7th, 10th, and 11th have been added to the regularly scheduled dates this month of the 17th and 18th.

If you would like to learn more about this issue, you may contact Jennifer Lyle regarding debris processing at JenniferL@hiltonheadislandsc.gov or 843-341-4779 or Joheida Fister regarding outdoor burning at JoheidaF@hiltonheadislandsc.gov or 843-682-5140.
