Tropical Storm Hermine

The Town Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been deactivated. As a result of the storm Fire Rescue has responded to a total of 37 calls from 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The calls consist of the following:

  • 24 Trees blocking roadways
  • 5 Trees on homes
  • 3 Trees on vehicles
  • 4 Trees on powerlines
  • 1 Elevator Rescue

No injuries were reported from any of the incidents.

Town Emergency Management will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if necessary.

The public should take the following precautions following the storm:

  • Keep away from loose or dangling power lines and report them immediately to the power company.
  • Inspect your home for damage. Take pictures of damage, both of the building and its contents, for insurance purposes.
  • Wear protective clothing and be cautious when cleaning up to avoid injury.
  • Watch animals closely and keep them under your direct control.
