The Town of Hilton Head Island has placed the new signal at the subject location in flashing operation in preparation for its placement in stop-and-go operation. The traffic signal was placed in a flashing operation on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014.

The Town plans to place this signal into stop-and-go operation at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014. Motorists should use caution in passing through the intersection and when traveling in the area, particularly after the signal’s activation next Tuesday morning.

This new traffic signal is part of the Town's road improvement project in the vicinity of the entrance to the Leamington neighborhood that will provide signalized access to William Hilton Parkway to and from Queens Way, Fresh Market Shoppes, the Hargray Campus, and Hilton Head Island Community Church. Following the signal's activation, work to permanently close the median crossovers presently serving the Hargray Campus and the Fresh Market Shoppes shopping center in front of The Fresh Market will be permanently closed.
