The Support Services Division is tasked to support the overall mission of Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue so that emergency response and operations may be provided in an efficient and effective manner.
The Support Services Division is comprised of the following technical and administrative functions:
Communications (E911) professionals receive emergency calls for service and dispatch the appropriate apparatus through a sophisticated computed aided dispatch system.
Fleet Maintenance: Fleet Maintenance keeps a Town fleet of 140 vehicles, several hundred gas powered tools, more than 26,000 feet of fire hose and hundreds of other pieces of equipment in working order on a daily basis.
Planning: Fire Rescue is an internationally accredited organization. Long range planning is an essential part of the accreditation process. Planning is responsible for all records management, long and short term planning and quality assurance of all reporting and assures compliance with applicable regulations and mandates.
Public Safety Systems: Sophisticated programs such as computer aided dispatch, records management, scheduling, and patient care reporting are maintained by a Public Safety Systems Administrator and Analyst.
Supply and Support Specialist: Supplies uniforms, safety equipment and various other supplies for 140 personnel and seven fire stations.
