The Planning Division is able to see where we are "today" in order to help plan appropriately for "tomorrow" through analysis of geographic information system (GIS) data as well as emergency incident and response data. This analysis helps us determine what the risks are to our community and what our emergency response model should be in order to handle these risks.
Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue maintains accreditation through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) through a comprehensive, self assessment process designed to continually enhance the professionalism of our organization.
The Planning Division is also responsible for managing the reporting process for fire and medical incidents and for providing copies of these reports to the public upon request. The Planning Division also manages the E 9-1-1 addressing process.
