Thank you for your interest in the Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue E911 Communication Center. We hope that you will never need our services but chances are that sometime in your life, you or a loved one will have to dial 911. Last year more than 50,000 people called our center for help. That is why it is important for you to teach all of your family members, including young children, the importance of knowing how - and when - to call 911.

Your call will be answered by one of our trained Communications Dispatchers. These individuals undergo an extensive screening and educational process that includes nationally recognized certifications as well as detailed information on local policies and procedures. We take your safety seriously.

Members of the E911 Communications Center are quality people, providing quality service. They support citizens and firefighters by demonstrating compassion, a desire to serve, professional conduct, and comprehensive knowledge and ability. Their job requires the mental toughness and courage to face challenging situations. While others are in distress, they must suspend their emotions in order to be successful.

Our success is measured in seconds.
