The Town of Hilton Head Island Fire department offers First Aid & CPR training to the public. Firefighters and Paramedics can teach you how to perform CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), AED and first aid. If interested, please contact the Bureau of Fire Prevention at (843)682-5141.

First Aid & CPR / AED training

The Town of Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue offers First Aid, CPR and AED training to the public. Classes are appropriate for all ages. There is no charge for classes held at Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue, only for the certification cards. For a class schedule and to register, call the Public Education Office at (843) 682-5141.

Heartsaver / AED CPR Course

The Heartsaver CPR /AED course teaches how to recognize and treat cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child and infant victims. Students will also learn how and when to use an AED (automated external defribrillator). Certification card mailed after completion of the course. Cost for certification card is $7.00.

Heartsaver CPR / AED Course - Skills Only

Students may take CPR or CPR / AED on line through the American Heart Association (www.onlineaha.org external link) and click on Heartsaver CPR/AED online part 1) and then be tested on their skills. You must bring a copy of your certificate of completion for the written portion to the skills testing. Certification card mailed after completion of skills. Cost for certification card is $7.00.

Friends and Family CPR

CPR for friends and family teaches how to recognize and treat cardiac arrest and choking victims. There is no certification card for this class
