    • Additional survey work regarding lagoon storage capacity is underway and expected to be completed by early-August.
    • Wetland permitting is underway.
    • A submittal for New Development-Conceptual has been submitted to the DRB and will be reviewed at the August 9th regular DRB meeting.
    • Staff participated in a phase 2 kick-off meeting/design charrette with the team in Charleston to finalize details of the site plan.
    • Staff participated in review meetings with USCB officials and architects to review final floor plans.
    • Staff participated in a site visit with USCB representatives and architects/engineers to field check conditions critical to site plan.
  • 6/28/2016 - Asbestos abatement and demolition of the Carolina Complex and Time Warner Building completed.

  • 1/5/2016 - Bids were received from 8 bidders for demolition of the Carolina Complex and Time Warner Building. Demolition is anticipated to start in early February 2016. The low bidder was Complete Demolition out of Carrollton Georgia. The demolition project is scheduled to be completed by early June 2016.
  • 12/16/2015 - The Planning Commission approved applications for Public Project Review for construction of a new education facility for USCB Hospitality Management and OLLI and for improvements at the intersection of Office Park Road, Pope Avenue, and New Orleans Road.
  • October 2015 - USCB, through its procurement process, interviewed 4 architectural firms and selected Liollio Architects out of Charleston, SC, Liollio has retained a consulting firm that specializes in Hospitality teaching facilities; Bialosky and partners. Key segments of the university structure, including those outside the Hospitality Management Program continue to participate in internal design review discussions. Town staff continues to work with our traffic consultants to reevaluate the impact of the summer 2015 traffic counts, including the five-year evaluation of the traffic circles, with recommendations scheduled to be presented to the Circle to Circle Task Force in late October.
  • July 2015 - Approval of MOU has been obtained from Commission on Higher Education and the Governor’s Budget and Control Board. USCB is finalizing process to select architectural firm that will take the conceptual designs forward. Public Project Review process awaiting updated traffic count data.
